The roof replacement project has been completed. Our certified expert opted to replace the damaged section of the slate roof with Flintastic. This material complements the slate roof in both appearance and functionality, giving these homeowners a roof they can rely on. Our crew begins this project by removing all of the damaged slates, keeping only those that can be reused once they begin replacing the slates. Our crew makes sure to get every scrap of the existing roof removed, as that's the only way to guarantee that the new roof will be built on a strong foundation. Our crew has stripped the roof down to the roof, so they can begin the process of installing the new roof. The first step to a watertight roof is installing ice & water shield. This protective barrier will keep any water from leaking into the roof, and it will also prevent ice dams from causing significant damage if they form during the winter. The crew wraps the ice & water shield all the way down along the roof to the gutters, making sure it is wrapped behind the gutters. This will make sure no water or ice can get in behind the gutters and ruin the new roof. Our crew installs copper near the peak of the roof, as this will tie the existing slates into the new section of the roof. It will also ensure that water is able to run down the roof rather than into it.
