Customer called about moss on their shingle roof. Not only does moss shorten a roof’s lifespan, but it can cause water damage. Our certified expert found that the shade from the trees around the roof was the cause of the overgrowth in moss.

Solution

As a solution, we installed “Freedom Gray” ridge vents that are made of a mixture of copper and zinc, which both have anti-algae properties. When rain hits the “Freedom Gray” vent, it mixes with the metals and directs the natural algaecide to the rest of the roof, eliminating the moss.
