Windows Installation and My Documents on the Very same Disk Partition. It is the Ideal Choice?

By default, My Documents often reside on the very same disk partition as windows installation.  If a backup if flooding your mind is an alternative, but your files are excellent as the time you backed-up your documents. One the solutions I came across is creating Windows to use a custom folder separated from Disk C: or Windows installation itself and make redirected as the method folder itself.  I mean, getting the folder on an additional disk, but transparent to the user.
