GF Sprague was amazing! They replaced parts of our roof that had issues, revamped our gutters, and did an amazing job on our chimney. We can’t say enough about how nice they were, how responsible, and how great the work turned out. We would certainly use them again!

The work was always of high quality and the workmen were polite, efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. Yes, their prices are a bit high, but they are responsive to customer concerns. In all the snow we had in the winter of 2010-2011, we didn’t have one leak from all the snow that got piled on our roof and skylights.

GF Sprague replaced all the rain gutters on my house in the summer of 2011. The existing gutters had been installed by three different contractors as the wooden gutters original to the house failed. Some of the problems that had developed had resulted from mistakes made by another roofing contractor when the roof was replaced several years ago. All this was carefully explained by the salesman. The work was done by a thoroughly professional crew who completed the job on time and in an exemplary fashion. I am very satisfied with the work done and was impressed with the care the crew took to clean up the site daily. I would certainly use GF Sprague again.

Totally informative, what to expect, what it would cost. Not the cheapest bid received, but the most inclusive. Once the work began, the crew was efficient, clean and kept to the script. I hired GF Sprague to re-roof my house in 2008. I found the company to be more expensive than some of their competitors, but they stand behind their work. Two small issues developed more than a year after the work was completed and in each case Sprague’s guys came back and made sure everything was properly fixed. I recommended GF Sprague to a neighbor, and he also is pleased with the quality of the work done. They return telephone calls promptly.

We first met GS Sprague in the winter of 2011 when our roof was covered under 2 feet of snow and ice and a massive ice dam had formed on the North side of the house. Fearful of a roof collapse I got on the internet to see if I could find a contractor willing to remove snow and ice. On the web, the GS Sprague company had a diagram very clearly explaining ice dams. Much to my surprise since every roofing contractor was busy we made an appointment and they cleared a lot of snow and ice from our roof. We knew we needed a new roof so after the winter ended we asked Sprague to make a proposal. During the proposal process we learned that our previous roofing contractor had made mistakes, and that our roof was more complicated that we realized. The crew that installed our new roof were fun to work with and we missed them when the job ended. In summary, GS Sprague will probably not be your lowest bidders, but if you want the job done right; GS Sprague is the one to call.

G F Sprague installed our slate roof in 1991 and has continued to maintain the roof as needed. The quality and craftsmanship is outstanding. Tony supervised and installed the roof and when repairs are needed Tony is still the one that does the repairs. There are not many companys today that give the service and quality that GF Spragueroofing gives. <br/>I would highly recommend GF Sprague for any roofing and gutter work.

I recently had the dreaded conversation with my husband when we realized it was way overdue for us to have the roof replaced. We called Sprague first; they’re trucks have been all over the area for years so we gave them a try. I’m not going to say we jumped for joy through the whole process, but working with their office staff and the production guy that came out and the workers – well, they made it as painless as possible. (House renovation is never fun…) So, we would recommend sprague to our friends and anyone that may need their expertise! They’re service was really outstanding, and its hard to get good customer service these days, and a good product and they did both. I figured I have no problem writing a review when I’m unhappy with a service, so maybe I should take a few minutes to praise a company thats hard working and loyal to their customers. Good for them!

During the sales presentation they talked about how there competitors are all sales and marketing companies who sub everything out and say its terrible to use subs because they get paid by how much work they get done or per square foot. When I hired GF Sprague who else shows up at my house but sub contractors with magnetic signs on the truck. Exactly what the man himself told me to run from. They all but called Olyn crooks and said they cheated there workers comp insurance. The work came out fine but I paid more than double I should have. Have not had any problem with the work but feel I was decieved. I was decieved about other contractors about sub contractors and scare and sleezy sales tactis were used. I dont mind the sales tactics on there own because its there job but along with the lies, terrible.

Some companies are, in fact, only brokers who have decided to only sell the work then sub the work…the result is inconsistent quality. On the other hand GF Sprague has continued to recruit, train, incentize the most talent people for long term employment…this includes a few independent specialists [technically subcontractors] who compliment the unique services our company provides. Everyone, including our independents must follow the same exacting high quality standards that our customers expect from us. WE all want great service at a fair price. Jim, the customer apparently agrees as he was “very pleased “with the work. Obviously, his comment of” paying double” is contradicted by what’s called the efficiency of the marketplace. Any company would not survive 42 years if it were not competitive especially in this business. GF Sprague has continued to service generations of family members who have continually referred us to theirs neighbors because we’ve provided incredible value for 42 years. Really helped in time of need! I had terrible ice dams last year during the winter storms and I calledGF Sprague to come out when I saw their signs. I had to wait about a week to get them out but everyone was busy that week. The sales guy Mark walked me through the repairs step by step and explained to me everything that they did. The service was great. I would definitely call them again in the future.

I also agree with lovevision and DC. The sales guy insisted that my wife be present when he showed us the estimate. I asked why and go the baloney that his customers were always the happiest when they made the decision jointly. I said my wife didn’t care and didn’t have time and that i would be happy to discuss with him directly. He finally gave me an estimate but wouldn’t leave the documents behind until he could show us both together. Bad decision. I blew him off and ended up hiring another roofing company and spent over $20000 with them (even more than the original GF Sprague estimate.) PS – When I mentioned my general experience to the new roof co, he immediately asked if the initials were GFS… guess I wasn’t the first person put off my the high pressure sales tactic.

Totally agree with DC. I have no idea what’s wrong with this company. They insisted both my wife and I be present to have the evaluation done. Come on, it’s just an evaluation and we haven’t made any commitment yet!

Worst customer service experience ever: I contacted the company for a simple gutter repair. They insisted on a full evaluation of the roof, chimney, etc. Since it was no cost I agreed and scheduled an appointment. They never showed up. I called and they didn’t have any record of it. So I attempted to reschedule. After asking me for some of the same information three times, the person then informed me that it would be mandatory that my wife be present as she was also a decision maker. I already missed a day of work for they appointment that they didn’t show for. Now they wanted us both to miss work for a reschedule. I explained that this was a simple gutter repair and that there’s no way we were both going to be there, and was told that this was the way their company works. I told them in that case, that there’s no way their company is going to be working with me. Worst customer service experience I’ve had in years and that says a lot. EDIT … Show full review
